Dental Student Loan Repayment Program Legislation Approved in Senate Committee

SB 764 by Sen. Aaron Bean (R-Jacksonville) was unanimously approved by the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Higher Education on Thursday, Feb. 8, with an amendment. The amendment adopted to the bill aligns the Senate bill to CS/HB 369 by Rep. Colleen Burton (R-Lakeland), which limits new applicants to the dental student loan repayment program to no more than 10 per year. SB 764 now moves to the Senate Appropriations Committee for consideration. CS/HB 369 is waiting to be heard in the House Health Care Appropriations Subcommittee.
